Hey guys!
Last week a few co-workers and I started talking about toys from our childhood. We are all children of the 80s and it was so fun to reminisce about all the toys, shows, movies, and food of our youth.
Here were some of the things we talked about:
I loved these! I remember my dad would bring home packs of these for me on his way home from work. When I think about them now, I have no idea why I (as a girl) liked them, but I did.
I can remember spending hours and hours playing this on the floor of my bedroom growing up.
I had several Cabbage Patch Kids and loved them.
My girlfriend brought these up and I wasn’t sure I knew what she was talking about, but as soon as I saw the picture, I remembered these tasty chips.
I had so many Lisa Frank items – pencils, pens, book covers, and even a comforter.
While I wasn’t a big fan, I do remember that my sister’s best friend growing up (who was a boy) loved them.
I remember New Kids On The Block because they were the first concert that I ever went to.
I remember that cops would come talk to our class about drugs throughout the year.
OF COURSE I remember this .. only my favorite movie EVER!!! 🙂
My sister LOVED this show.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Care Bears!
I think I read pretty much every one of these books.
I LOVED these!
Another favorite of mine as a child.
aahh, memories!! How many of these do you remember? Anything not on the list that you remember from the 80s?
Hey guys,
Happy Hump Day! I leave for vacation in less than 3 weeks, and let me tell you, it can’t come fast enough!
I need to thank you all for your kind words and comments on my recent post about my dad. I was super close with my dad and losing him was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through, so I really appreciate it. ♥
Things haven’t been all that exciting around here.
I have found my new favorite yogurt, which I have been eating daily.
Fage – Orange Cinnamon
After the recent mold situation involving Chobani, I decided to try some other brands of Greek yogurt for a while. This was one of the first new kinds that I tried and I LOVE it. If you have never tried it, you NEED to! It’s delicious!!
I am still obsessed with this cute little guy.
Pumpkin coffee has been in full effect! Can’t.Get.Enough!!
Orange TicTacs are my absolute favorite candy, so you can imagine how happy I was to find this last weekend.
I’m glad someone finally realized the original container size was simply not big enough.
I have mentioned this on a previous post, but I need to tell you about it again because it is DELICIOUS!
This is the best milk that I have EVER tasted. I use it as creamer in my coffee each morning and I am IN LOVE with it.
I will leave you with the following words of wisdom:
Have a great day, guys!
Hey guys!
How is your weekend going so far?
Saturday AM started with an early weight session (arms and legs) at the gym. I love getting my workout out of the way nice and early. I was at the gym for about 1/2 hr. then went home to shower and do some laundry.
I also made a trip to Target to stock up on some K-cups. Of course, a few other things ended up in my cart as well (as always!).
Here are some of the things I got:
After I got back from Target, I went to get my nails done.
On Saturday night, Pat, my mom, and I went to watch The Somerset Patriots (a professional baseball team based in Bridgewater Township, NJ).
It was a nice cool night and we had a lot of fun (and lots of yummy food). It also happened to be Fireworks Night there.
It is now 12:04 AM on Sunday and we just got home. I am off to bed.
Talk to you guys later!! 🙂
Hey guys,
I have not talked about many personal things here on my blog, but lately I have had something on my mind and thought I would share it with all of you.
On January 27th of this year, I lost my dad.
My dad and I
To say that it was the darkest day of my life would be an understatement. My dad was without a doubt my biggest supporter. My dad had been very sick for a while and even though there were many days that we did not know if he would live through the night, I still wasn’t prepared to lose him.
My dad and I on my wedding day
While I am glad that my dad is no longer in pain, my life is obviously not the same without him. I have many, many great memories of him, but it breaks my heart that I can’t call or see him anymore, that he will never meet my children someday, and will never see my sister get married.
Long before my dad passed away, he decided he wanted to be cremated. Most of his ashes are now in a niche next to my grandparents. A few days after my dad passed away, Pat came up with the idea of taking some of my dad’s ashes to spread in the ocean the next time we went to Aruba. I loved this idea and know my dad would have too since he LOVED Aruba and it was his absolute favorite place in the world.
Our first trip to Aruba
I have a small urn of his ashes for this reason that I currently have on my dresser, next to my jewelry box that has his picture in it. As our next trip to Aruba is coming up, I have been thinking about this a lot and I am unsure if I want to do this anymore. While I know my dad would have loved it, I also like having some of his ashes with me because it makes me feel he is with me.
Some eats from the last week
just bought this today – can’t wait to try it!
these may have been the best strawberries that I EVER had
big batch of roasted chickpeas, tomatoes, asparagus, peppers, and yellow squash
Some things I liked this week
Fall like temps (in the AM at least!)
agree!
Next book I am going to read
Favorite new shampoo
I LOVE this shampoo! I have used Pantene for as long as I can remember but decided to try something new after Katie mentioned it on her blog. Guys, you need to try it! It is definitely my new favorite!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!! 🙂

Hey guys!
How is your weekend going so far? Ours has been great over here.
On Friday my mom came down to stay with Pat and I for the weekend. She also brought this cute little guy with her.
her Shih Tzu Jake
Even though you might not be able to tell from the look on Bosco’s face in this picture, Bosco LOVES to play with Jake.
What Bosco does NOT love .. sharing. As soon as Jake got within 2 feet of any of Bosco’s 10000000 toys, Bosco literally blocked Jake from his toys with his body and gave him a look like, “ummm, can I help you? These are MY toys!”. haha It was so funny. Clearly, Bosco needed to play with ALL of his toys and did not have any he was able to let Jake play with. Poor Jake.
Most of Friday night was spent just hanging out talking and snacking, LOTS of snacking. We had pizza for dinner (as we do every Fri. night), and my mom brought over all kinds of treats from a bakery by her house – mocha cake, chocolate covered pretzels, and pasteries.
Some of these too! 🙂
Later on that night, things got REALLY crazy.
a bunch of party animals, I tell ya!
On Saturday morning, Pat, my mom, and I all had breakfast together. After breakfast, Pat went for a run on the boardwalk and I went to get my nails done while my mom stayed at the house with Bosco and Jake.
After Pat and I both got home, we decided to go see We’re the Millers with my mom.
We all thought the movie was really funny!
After we got home from the movies, we grilled up some sausage and peppers to go along with some corn on the cob. Our dinner was delicious.
After dinner we hung out talking for a while before we decided to head over to a bar right by our house to listen to a band play. The band was just OK, so after a few drinks we decided to take care of more important business – getting ice cream. It was about 11 PM at this time and almost every ice cream place we went to had just closed. We were finally able to get ice cream and enjoyed it back at the house.
A great weekend so far and thankfully, it is not over yet!
What was the best thing you did this weekend??
