Happy Tuesday!!

I hardly ever cook, so I am quite impressed with the dinner I made for myself last night … roasted peppers, tomatoes, and asparagus that I made this weekend over wheat pasta with some marinara sauce and low-fat mozzarella cheese.  It was delicious.

I work about 4 miles from my house, so I am thankfully able to go home every day on my break to let Bosco out.  When I came home yesterday, this was how I found Bosco in his bed.

It seems someone had a rough morning.  haha   🙂

Has anyone tried the Double Chocolate Chunk Quest bars yet?  Oh my, they are DELICIOUS!!!!

The Banana Nut Muffin was always my favorite Quest bar flavor, but I think the Double Chocolate Chunk may have taken the top spot.

Anyone doing anything fun for Halloween on Thursday? I will be in work all day. BOOOO!!!  Bosco will be getting dressed up when I get home from work though and will help give out candy to the kiddies.

It is Friday!  WOOHOO!!! This has been a super long week. I am so glad it is finally the weekend and the best part is we have absolutely nothing we have to do either day.

This is the shortest my nails have been for as far back as I can remember. I must say, as much as I LOVE long nails, I’m really liking the length of short nails for this last week.

So I previously mentioned how I was undecided if I wanted to take my dad’s ashes to Aruba to spread in the ocean. I decided I wanted to keep them with me, but Pat and I did find another way to bring my dad to Aruba in some way. The morning that we were going to leave for Aruba, Pat told me he thought of something special we could still do for my dad, even though we weren’t going to take his ashes with us. He had the idea of taking pictures of my dad to leave at various special spots in Aruba. I thought this was a great idea.

We rented a Jeep for the day and drove around to some of our and my dad’s favorite spots in Aruba.

Our first stop was Baby Beach, which my dad LOVED.  It is absolutely beautiful.

I have great memories of going to Baby Beach with my parents and sister when I was younger.

Baby Beach has several huts all along the water and we were able to put a picture of my dad inside one of the huts.

Another spot that we went to was Charlie’s Bar.  Charlie’s Bar & Restaurant was founded on September 18, 1941 by a Dutch couple, Charles and Marie Brouns. Charlie’s Bar is recognized as one of the Top Ten Bars in the Caribbean. Many people that go there leave little things behind to show they were there: plaques, awards, photographs, address labels, license plates, etc.

The bar is literally filled with items that people from all over the world have left there.  My mom and dad went there together on their first trip to Aruba and told my sister and I about it. We thought this would be another great spot to leave a picture of my dad. We asked the owner of the bar (who was super nice) where we could put a picture we had. He told us to write a message on the back of the picture. I was very emotional, so Pat wrote the message on the back: Dad, now a part of you will always be in Aruba.  Love, Lisa and Pat. The owner then put the picture up on the wall for us.

On the top left corner of the top frame, is a wedding picture of Pat and I with my parents and sister.

So, while we did not take my dad’s ashes to Aruba (at least not now), we did find a special way to bring part of him with us.

As Pat said: Dad, now part of you will always be in Aruba, as well as in my heart always.  XOXO

My sister and I had a lot of fun pumpkin picking today. It was absolutely beautiful out and we had a great time.

We have been going to the same farm to go pumpkin picking since we were little kids.

While we were out, Pat stayed home to get some work done around the house. I received this picture from him a few hrs. after I left.

I can see Pat was able to get a lot of work done (in between making Bosco take pictures with him). Bosco does not look amused. I am clearly his favorite parent.   🙂

How is your weekend going so far? It has been a nice one over here. It has finally started to feel like Fall. In case I never mentioned it, I LOVE Fall.

Yesterday AM, I got up early and was going to hit the gym but then decided I was just not feeling it, so I decided to take a rest day. I did some laundry, checked emails / blogs, and then took a trip to Trader Joe’s.

I picked up these 2 babies while there.

The one thing that I REALLY REALLY wanted was the Pumpkin Body Butter and they didn’t have any,  😦   I asked if they had any in the back since I didn’t see any out and was told it is done for the season.  WHAT????!!!!  I was so upset.  If anyone wants to send me a tub of it, I will love you forever.

After I put everything from Trader Joe’s away, I went to get my nails done, which was VERY needed. I usually get my nails done every 2 weeks, but had to wait 3 1/2 weeks since I was on vacation.  My nails are now pretty again and all is well in the world.  🙂

Later on in the day, Pat and I went to see Captain Phillips. It was AWESOME! If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to. It was the best movie I have seen in years. It had you on the edge of your seat the entire time! Awesome movie.

I am about to go the gym since I never made it there yesterday. Later today I am going pumpkin picking with my sister – yeah!!  🙂

Hey guys!

I have to say my first week back after vacation has went by pretty fast and I am glad it is almost the weekend. I spent most of the week trying to catch up on emails, stuff at work, laundry, and cleaning the house.

I have also been spending lots of time with my love who I missed so much last week.

Bosco of course got a new toy from Aruba. I think he likes it.  🙂

This is totally me.  haha

Last night I made some spaghetti squash and it was delicious!

When I was younger, my dad used to put leftover spaghetti in scrambled eggs. It may sound strange, but trust me, it tastes incredible.  Since I had lots of spaghetti squash left from last night, I decided to put some in scrambled eggs tonight for dinner.  Verdict —-> DELICIOUS!  🙂

This weekend I am looking forward to getting my nails done (it has been 3 weeks, eekk!!!!), going to see the movie Captain Phillips with Pat, and going pumpkin picking with my sister on Sunday.

Hey guys!

Pat and I got back to NJ on Sat. night. We had an AWESOME vacation. I feel like I was just telling you that we arrived in Aruba and now we are back already. Vacation is over .. say it ain’t so!!!

I am definitely sad that it is over, but I did miss this little face like crazy.

The weather was great the full time we were there, we enjoyed LOTS and LOTS of yummy food and drinks, and had such a fun and relaxing time.

Prepare yourself for a huge photo dump of our trip.  🙂

Our vacation seriously flew by and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer week in Aruba. Pat and I both looked at each other on Fri. night (with sad faces) and said how is our vacation over already????? Now it is time to catch up on emails, laundry, cleaning, and work.
