One year ago today

One year ago today, I received the worst call of my life – my dad went into cardiac arrest and passed away several minutes later. I knew my dad had been very sick for the last 2 years but the news that I lost him was still a total shock and was undoubtedly the darkest day of my life.  I remember sitting on the floor of my living room crying my eyes out.  I remember crying as soon as I got into bed for several nights after he passed away. I lost my biggest supporter, the person that loved me totally unconditionally all of my life.  People say it gets easier, and it does, but the pain never goes away. There will forever be a void in my heart.  A year later, it still hurts, but I am also much more thankful now. Thankful that I spent the day with my dad the day before he passed away .. Thankful that I was able to tell him I loved him one last time. Thankful that I now have 32 years worth of memories of my time spent with him. Thankful that I can still remember the sound of his voice clear as day in my head.  Thankful that I have a voicemail saved from him of him telling me that he loved me.

I miss my dad every single day. I miss being able to call him, watch TV with him, tell him about things going on in my life, hearing his voice, his cooking, him calling me just to ask what was new and how I was (even though he was the one with so many health problems).

This is a video that I made in memory of my dad:

There is no one else in the world that I would have rather had as my dad. I love you, Daddy and will for the rest of my life.  XOXO

Weekend Recap

Hey guys!

How have you been?

Pat and I went away skiing last weekend in PA. We went with a friend of mine, her husband,  her 3 brothers, and their families. I have only went skiing a few times and was about 25 when I went for the first time ever. Pat, on the other hand , is a great skiier and has been going skiing since he was a kid. While I didn’t do any skiing this weekend, we had an awesome time. We hung out a lot, had lots of yummy cocktails (until 2:45 AM on Fri. night!), went out for Hibachi, and had a lot of laughs.

While Pat and some of the others were skiing, I hung out with my friend’s husband in the lodge.  After a few hours of skiing, everyone met back up for some food and cocktails. Since we stayed out really late on Fri. night and were all really tired, we pretty much just hung out the rest of the day on Saturday.

We went out for dinner on Saturday night to a fun Hibachi restaurant. We left there absolutely stuffed. We hung out at the hotel bar for a while after we got back from dinner and then called it a night.

Sunday AM we had breakfast with everyone and then headed back to NJ. When we got home, we unpacked, caught up on laundry, and then went to pick up Bosco from PetSmart.

I missed my little hunny!!

After we picked up Bosco, we got pizza to bring home for dinner and just hung out for the rest of the night. We watched Revenge and then went to sleep.

Bosco was up at 4:30 AM on Monday, with some serious stomach problems (LOTS of diarrhea – eekk!!!).  He was sick all day yesterday and let’s just say his super furry white butt and diarrhea do not make a great combination! I am not sure if someone fed him something that upset his stomach while he was away, or if he just missed us, but he was pretty sick.  Thankfully, he seems to feel much better today, although he is still not 100% back to normal yet.

No matter how sick he is, he still always looks so cute!

My sick little boy

Today we are supposed to get up to 14 inches of snow where I live in NJ!!   I am so NOT happy about this!!  My office actually closed early and even though it hasn’t been snowing that long so far, the roads are a mess already. The heaviest snow is supposed to be from 5 PM into Wednesday.

Well, I am off to prepare for the Blizzard of 2014.  Enjoy the rest of your day, guys!!

Happy Tuesday

Hey guys!

Happy Tuesday! How are things?

I am currently listening to Bosco bark his booty off at the rain. It sounds delightful .. try not to be too jealous (although he is super cute, so maybe it is OK to be just a little jealous). icon_smile

I took a trip to Target and bought a few new (to me) things that I can’t wait to try:

I also picked up a few boxes of my favorite K-cups (they are on sale after all!)

I was pretty stressed out after a long, busy day at work, but this song brought a smile to my face on my way home (so much so that I needed to take a picture and send it to my sister, who also loves this song!). It’s the little things that can make you happy!  haha

I just got done with dinner and am about to make myself comfy on the couch for the night.  Enjoy the rest of your night! icon_smile

Hello there

Hey guys!

Long time no talk!  Things have been super busy at work, so I haven’t had much time to blog.

You would think since so much time has passed since I wrote an actual post that I would have lots and lots of exciting things to report, right?  Not so much.  haha

Last week I had a horrible sinus headache for most of the week. On Monday night, my eyes felt sore and swollen, my head was killing me, and I started to feel super nauseous. I decided to lay down “for just a few minutes” around 7:30 PM. A few minutes turned into 2 hrs., at which point I got up to brush my teeth and then went back to sleep. I then woke up the next morning with a headache again, and have had one pretty much all week.  I took Excedrin Migraine and put a hot washcloth on my eyes (the only thing that ever seems to help a headache for me), but I still couldn’t seem to get rid of it. Due to my week long headache, I didn’t make it to the gym even one time. I need to change that next week!

Do you guys like how our brand new light (in our just done bathroom) looks?? The light just fell out of the ceiling on Wednesday and is just hanging by little wires. Pat called and texted the guys who did the work and they said they would come Thursday to fix it. They didn’t come on Thursday because they said they got tied up on another job but would “100% be there to fix it on Friday”. Well, I think the guy meant to text 0%, not 100%, because Friday came and went and the light has not been looked at yet.

It looks safe just dangling by little wires right over the toilet, right??!!    grrrrr

Right now I am sipping on a Vanilla Caramel Latte, which is very yummy. I am going to go food shopping as soon as I am done. It is raining and gross out, so I am not looking forward to it.

Later today, I am going to get my nails done.

I would also like to go to the movies to see this today.

Have a great day, guys! Talk to you later!
