Hey guys!
I am SO happy to tell you that Bosco was finally able to go home! We just got back to the house about an hr. ago and I am so happy to have my honey home!
Hey guys,
The latest Bosco update:
We were told Bosco might have been able to come home today, but sadly he was not approved to yet. He still has diarrhea and would not eat any of his canned food for the Dr. all day. Since we have not seen him in a few days, they told us we could go visit him tonight. We went to see him right after work and were told we could bring him some chicken or other food for him to try.
Look at his little IV!!
We brought him some chicken and filet mignon and he basically inhaled it! We were able to feed him quite a bit, which he happily ate, but didn’t want to give him too much since his stomach is still not used to food. The Dr. was so happy that he finally ate since he did not have any food in his stomach since Mon. at 6 AM (he lost 2 lbs.). Their biggest concern was that he still had no appetite. Well, it turns out he did – just not for dog food! Spoiled little doggie! 🙂
I am so glad we got to visit Bosco tonight! There was a huge improvement compared to Wednesday night, when he was totally oblivious to everything and miserable. He was so happy to see us, ate his filet mignon and chicken (he would’ve happily ate the full container we brought), and we even took him for a walk outside.
(his paws had to be shaved for the IV)
While it is still not the same as having him back home, it was awesome to be able to see Bosco again. 🙂
Hey guys,
So I just wanted to update you on how Bosco is doing.
As of this AM: Bosco had an ultrasound done and it came back normal. (yeah!) The doctor said he was perky this morning and seemed to be in a much better state due to the IV. He was on the schedule to try solid food for the first time all week.
This is what the doctor thinks he has:

I just called again a little while ago (9 PM) to check on Bosco. The Dr. said she just checked on him and saw he ate some of his canned food (earlier in the day, he didn’t want to eat for them). He hasn’t thrown up at all today but started with diarrhea again (no blood though). She said they would still like to try to send him home tomorrow, but we will need to see how he is overnight and early tomorrow.
I was so sad this morning seeing all of his toys around the house, but not him here.
All I know is he better be ready to cuddle when he gets home (which MAYBE will be tomorrow).
Hey guys,
My poor little honey has been so sick for the last two days. We took him to the emergency vet this morning but he still didn’t seem to be feeling any better. Anytime he has been sick before, he is usually still so happy and playful, but these last two days he has only looked sad.
They are still not really sure what is the matter with him. We already knew he has colitis and we are no stranger to diarrhea when it comes to Bosco. When he was a puppy, there was hardly a week that went by when he wasn’t sick. The last 2 days he has had EXTREME diarrhea though, was throwing up, won’t eat anything at all, and yesterday AM we found a lot of blood in his stools (sorry if that is TMI!) which we have never seen with him before. This AM we were up since 4 AM with him throwing up pretty much non-stop and diarrhea, and he was just laying on the floor of the kitchen shaking as if he was cold. They took blood and it all came back normal other than some high liver levels (which is consistent for him because of steroids he is on for ear infections). He hasn’t had any food in over 36 hrs. and is still VERY sick and he looks miserable .. makes me want to cry. 😦
The Dr. said it could be pancreatitis but the only way to tell for sure would be with an ultrasound. She said it would be treated the same way he is now, with pills 2 x / day for the next week (which is a project to get down his throat). They gave him a pill while we were there this AM and we just gave him one now but they haven’t seemed to help him yet. He does NOT want you to touch anywhere near his stomach.
After Pat and I got home from work tonight, Bosco was still very sick and we were concerned so we took him back to the emergency vet. They admitted him and want to keep him there for a few days on IV. They are going to do an ultrasound in the morning to get a better idea of what is going on with him.
Please keep my honey in your thoughts. XOXO

Bosco was upset (as told by his constant grunting while staring at me) that I would not put him on the bed because I wanted to put the just washed sheets back on first. He finally gave up and decided to just sleep on the comforter that was on the floor. He’s got a tough life. 🙂
Hey guys!
Happy Wednesday! Thankfully this week has been going by pretty quickly (probably because I am still trying to catch up on 10000 things since being away for 10 days). Being back from vacation stinks. Oh well, at least I get to see Bosco every day. 🙂
So NJ has been getting torrential rain for the last few days. Don’t want to mention any names, but let’s just say someone (shhhh … it’s Bosco) is NOT happy. Last night’s hiding spots included the bathroom floor, behind the couch, the side of the couch, and under our office chair.
My poor baby. Thankfully he doesn’t have TOO much other stress in his life. 🙂
Other than getting to experience a daily monsoon, I don’t have too much else to report. Our days back from vacation have been spent catching up on work.
Our nights have been spent catching up on Season 2 of The Killing.
Anyone else watch this show? Pat and I watched Season 1 a while ago, and are finally getting around to watching Season 2 now. We should be done with it this weekend. I think it is a great show and definitely recommend it!
Well, time to think of something quick to make for dinner.
Have a great night! 🙂
Hey guys!
So Pat and I are back in NJ. BOO!!!! I can’t believe our vacation is over already! We had such a great time and are so upset that vacation is over! 😦
I have already filled you in on some of the fun things we saw and did, but I thought I would also share some of my favorite memories from our trip that I haven’t already blogged about.
We LOVED the food at Guy Fieri’s restaurant. Pat and I are both fans of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network, so when we saw Guy Fieri had his own restaurant, we knew we wanted to try it.
The first time we went, we got delicious chicken wings and pepperoni covered breadsticks that came with provolone fondue for dipping.
Since we thought the food was delicious, we went back a few days later for lunch (and made sure to save room for dessert this time!). We ordered the pepperoni covered breadsticks again, along with huge (and oh so tasty) onion rings.
For dessert, we shared the S’mores Monte Cristo (brioche, graham cracker butter, marshmallow, and gooey chocolate that came with raspberry and chocolate dipping sauce. Pat said he doesn’t think we can ever eat S’mores from anywhere else again because they will never be able to compare to the dessert we had.
If you are ever in Vegas, this restaurant is a must to go to!
2- San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo is a zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California housing over 3,700 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies. Pat and I heard the zoo was a must see and decided to spend one of our vacation days there. We had a great time walking around, seeing all the cute animals, and going on a bus tour of the zoo.
new toys for Bosco (because he NEEDED more toys!) 🙂
3 – La Jolla Cove in San Diego
We decided to leave Palm Springs a day earlier than we were supposed to and go to San Diego for our last day / night of vacation. You guys, San Diego is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It was in the low 80s during the day, with a nice cool breeze and actually a little chilly at night. It is definitely on my list of places to return to!
I had heard of seals hanging out on the beach in San Diego and knew it was something I definitely wanted to see.
I was SO glad we were able to see some seals on the beach!! Although they were quite smelly, they were absolutely ADORABLE!
It was so amazing to see people swimming literally just a few feet away from them.
I was also able to take an awesome video of the seals, but can’t figure out how to upload it to this post. If anyone has any advice, let me know because I would love for you to be able to see it!!
4 – O – Cirque du Soleil
O is a water-themed stage production by Cirque du Soleil, a Canadian circus and entertainment company. It takes place in, around and above a 1.5-million-US-gallon pool of water, featuring water acts such as synchronized swimming as well as aerial and ground acts.
The show was nothing short of AMAZING!!
This was our first Cirque Du Soleil show and although the tickets were expensive, they were so worth the money! The stunts were death-defying, the diving was amazing, and the elaborate water-based stunts were just amazing. I would go see this show again in a heartbeat!
While Pat and I are both depressed that vacation is over, we both missed Bosco like crazy.
We drove to pick him up from the PetSmart Hotel straight from the airport.
It was awesome to be reunited with my little love. 🙂
Time to do lots of laundry, Bosco cuddling, catch up on emails, bills, blogs, cleaning around the house (and start thinking of our next vacation!!). 🙂
Hey guys!
Pat and left Vegas earlier today and headed to Palm Springs.
The last few days have been spent doing lots of walking, eating, drinking yummy cocktails, and just relaxing.
Here are a few photos taken since the last time I posted:
We left Las Vegas at about 10 this morning and decided to rent a convertible for the drive to CA.
It took us about 4 1/2 hours to make the drive to Palm Springs.
It is HOT!! People say it is a dry heat, but it is still extremely hot! It is currently 110 out!
Since it is so hot out, we just got lunch at the pool bar and then walked around for only a very short time.
We are just hanging out in the room now and I’m not sure what is on the agenda for later tonight. Tomorrow we are going to drive to the San Diego zoo. We’ve heard it is awesome and I am excited to go!
Have a great night … check in with you later!! 🙂
Hey guys!
After we checked into our room, we decided to walk around and find something to eat.
Being that we both love country music, we figured Toby Keith’s bar would be the perfect place to have lunch.
I started with one of the best and biggest margaritas I’ve ever had.
The margarita was $18 but it was so worth it (and I drank every drop of it .. Pat was impressed!). We also shared an appetizer of fried macaroni and cheese which was delicious. I ordered a barbecue chicken salad and Pat had a burger.
After lunch we decided to walk around some more. One stop we made was at Sugar Factory.
I filled a big bin of candy for $16 and was drooling. I spotted this T-shirt while I was there and made sure to send my sister a text of it. 🙂
We continued to walk around for several hours.
We made a stop at the casino and I even won $150 … woohoo!!
Another stop for a margarita was made. Sadly these margaritas could not compare to the one earlier in the day.
We eventually made our way back to the room, relaxed for a while, and then headed up to the 38th floor of our hotel to watch some fireworks.
Even though we were up quite late on July 4th, we were up bright and early this morning.
We walked downstairs and had breakfast.
After breakfast, we decided to rub elbows with the celebrities. 🙂
Hanging out with celebrities all day is really exhausting, so we needed to stop for a bite to eat. We went to Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar.
We decided to share an appetizer of chicken wings and pepperoni wrapped breadsticks (which came with a side of provolone cheese dipping sauce).
After a wonderful lunch, we walked around the strip for a few more hours.
We were both super tired from walking around literally all day long so we made a necessary stop for some ice cream.
We’re now back in our room eating some snacks and watching TV while I write up this post.
Tonight we are going to a comedy show and will probably just grab a quick dinner before we go.
Have a great night and I’ll be back within the next few days with a new recap of our vacation. 🙂
