Time for Bosco to do the dishes and other Saturday things

Hey guys!

10653345

This morning we had to take Bosco to the vet since he won’t stop biting his paws constantly due to his allergies. (He especially likes to do this a lot at 2 or 3 AM, which always makes for a fun night’s sleep!). After almost 2 hours and a $500 bill, the vet said to give him Benadryl 2 to 3 times a day and to wash his paws daily with blue Dawn dish detergent. There is a fairly new allergy medication for dogs that seemed to work for Bosco a while ago, but the vet said it is back ordered and she didn’t want to put him on any other type of medication because his liver levels were high. Maybe we will just have Bosco work off his vet bill by washing the dishes every night for us – he will be multitasking (taking care of his paws and chores all at the same time!). 🙂

After Bosco’s appt. at the vet, I went to get my nails done, while Pat went for a run.

We had lunch at home and then headed to Point Pleasant Boardwalk to walk around for a while. It was packed! You would have thought it was still the middle of the summer with the amount of people there.

We hit up the arcade for a bit as well. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I won all 3 games of Skee-Ball (and by quite a bit .. TOOT TOOT!!). 🙂

After the boardwalk, we stopped home to let Bosco out and hang out with him for a while.

The mail came while we were come and I was happy to see this baby had arrived.

I let Pat know he will now have a new nighly job of rubbing this on my feet. It smells so delicious!!!

Next up, we decided to hit up the driving range. Pat wants to start to play golf more (more meaning ever because we both never play) so we have went to the range a few weekends lately. Today I decided to just watch (and play photographer).

The range was right by a Walmart and we stopped there so I could look for a candle that I wanted. A girl from my work recently got a candle there that smells AMAZING and I NEEDED to get one for myself.

I am happy to say they had it (and I got the last one!). 🙂

Oh, I also spotted this on the way out and wanted to try them out since I have never seen this flavor before. I will report back with a review shortly.

We stopped at the food store on the way home and grilled up some filet mignon (for Bosco), steak (for Pat), and chicken (for me).

What did you do today?

Anything exciting going on tomorrow?

I am not sure what we are doing tomorrow (other than at 10 PM, at which time we will be watching Revenge).

I am so happy that Revenge is back tomorrow with a new season!

Have a great night! 🙂

  1. Holy crap that was a huuuuge vet bill! Are vets generally expensive over there? Now that is an interesting treatment for paws! And what a way for him to multitask! Please say you’ll take a photo of him doing the dishes!!? 😜

Sounds like you had a great Saturday – skeeball champion! I’ve used that peppermint foots rub before… it was nice. Scented candles are not things we generally use in our house I must admit. It’s mostly due to the fact that I’m scared of not putting them out before going to bed and end up burning the house down!

Today (Sunday) we had a lie in and after lunch went for a 3 mile walk with Little Miss and the dogs.

  2. I have a gift certificate to get my nails done I really need to use! I always get mine super short though because I’m never used to long nails. I could not imagine that big of a vet bill. But that little face probably makes it better.

  3. I’m with you!! I’m so excited that Revenge is back!! 🙂

Also, I hear you on those vet bills! Yeesh! Oreo needs to be doing some dishes too. 😉

  4. I’m so sorry Bosco has allergies! Both my dogs, Sadie and Olive, do too. Sadie constantly licks her paws, all the time, all night. About 4 months ago we switched their dog food to “Limited Ingredient Diet” (LID) food (Sadie is on Wellness Simple LID and Olive is on Blue Buffalo puppy LID). According to the vets we’ve asked about this, the dogs body will become immune to Benadryl after long term use. I haven’t had them allergy tested yet, but that is my plan. I have to say both dogs have SIGNIFICANTLY improved on the LID diet, but Sadie especially. After 4 years of constant paw licking, Sadie RARELY licks her paws now. Sorry I went on a whole spill about my puppies haha but I know what you’re going through and I know poor little Bosco hates having itches too!

    • Thanks for this info.! With Bosco it is hard to adjust his food because he is on special food we need to order from our vet (Hill’s i/d) because he has a super sensitive stomach (high maintenance doggie over here! haha). Thankfully his allergies just seem to be seasonal and not all the time, but I still feel so sorry for him (and my husband and I when the licking is non-stop at 2 AM sometimes). The other day his paws were totally red and swollen and he would not leave them alone .. I was so tempted to put socks on him so that he wouldn’t be able to lick them but I don’t think he would keep them on.

  5. I just finished the first episode of Revenge (Season 4) – I am SO glad that I decided to watch it! 🙂 Thank you for the recommendation. I’m going to be sad when I’m all caught up and have to wait on a weekly basis! Boo.
