Just Checking In

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! I just wanted to check in and say hi. 🙂

How has your week been? Mine has been super busy at work, but thankfully there is a light at the end of the tunnel – only one more week and Pat and I leave for Aruba!

Not to toot my own horn, but I took this picture the last time we were there .. isn’t it so beautiful that it almost looks fake? Just say yes and make me happy. 🙂

Let’s see, what else do I want to tell you guys about. I have seen post after post on Instagram about Combat Crunch bars and have been intrigued to try them.

11934996_10206249441732399_8634802495453856386_n

I picked some up after work today and can’t wait to try them. If they are even 1/2 as tasty as Quest bars (which I LOVE and have every single day), I know I will love them.

I haven’t talked about fitness all that much lately, mostly because there hasn’t been much taking place to talk about. When my gym was right down the street, I went pretty much every morning before work. Now that my new gym is 10 – 15 mins. away, I just find it too hard to get there before work, but yet often feel too tired to go after work. I still do make it there, but lately only 1 or 2 days / week.  I have, however, been doing really well as far as watching what I eat. Over the last 3 months, I have been pretty strict about what I eat and actually lost 15 lbs. as a result. Over the last 3 months, I can honestly say I only had 1 real “cheat meal” (more like cheat 1/2 day). 🙂  I am quite proud of myself considering I was in many situations when I was around not so healthy food (concerts, parties, weekend away, even in an ice cream parlor with my sister and Pat!) but stayed disciplined. As time went on over the last 3 months, I really didn’t even crave junk food, as I said, other than last weekend.

I am really happy with my weight loss, except for one thing – I think 90% of the weight that I lost was in my boobs. 😦  haha (and by haha, I really mean waaaaaaa)  How is that fair??!! As I lost weight, I started to notice more and more extra room in my bras, but I think I was in denial. A few days ago I finally broke down and bought myself some new bras – 3 actually (which came to $220! – WHY are bras SO expensive??).

This weekend is going to be pretty busy for us. Tomorrow AM, Mr. Bosco has an appt. at the groomer and I have an appt. to get my nails done. Pat and I also want to try to get some more things done on the house to get it ready to put on the market, especially since we will be on vacation for the next 2 weekends.

On Sunday, Pat and I are going stand up paddle boarding with my friend, sister, and sister’s friend.

I am looking forward to it, but REALLY don’t want to fall into the water. haha  If I do like it, maybe Pat and I will do it in Aruba as well.

Well, Pat should be home any minute now with our dinner, so I will talk to you all later.

Have a great weekend!! 🙂

Weekend Review

Hey guys!

How was your weekend? We had a pretty busy (but fun!) one over here.

Friday night our realtor came over to see our house and discuss putting our house on the market. He was over for about 2 hrs. and we discussed other houses in the area that were for sale, recently sold, and went over recommendations to get our house ready to put on the market. The realtor suggested just a few little changes, such as getting some nice curtains for our dining room, rather than the long blinds that we currently have in there. We also want to do some touch up paint and the moulding in the dining room. After we get these little improvements done, we should be able to get our house on the market in the next few weeks.

Saturday AM we took Bosco to the vet for some vaccinations that he was due for. My baby had to get a few shots as well as blood taken for a yearly wellness exam. Due to this, I am not so sure Bosco would agree that we had a fun weekend at all. 🙂  We have noticed that as he gets older, he makes it very known when he is not happy about something – mostly by grunting. He grunted quite a bit while at the vet yesterday – Pat and I both found it to be quite funny.

Later in the day was when the fun of the weekend came into play – Pat, my sister, my sister’s friend, and I went to a Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney concert. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE Kenny Chesney. The concert was at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Pat and I drove to my sister’s apartment since she lives only about 35 mins. from the Stadium and we all drove there together. It was $30 to park there, so it didn’t make sense to take 2 separate cars.

The concert was awesome and we had a great time (aside from the drunk woman in the seat behind us who spilled beer on us about 10 times!!).

We didn’t get home until 1 AM or so and didn’t go to sleep until about 2 AM, so it was a slow Sunday morning. I did the usual household stuff – laundry, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the house, took Bosco for a walk – and then Pat and I went to get bagels for breakfast.  We got a bagel for Bosco as well (even though we give him just a few bites of a plain bagel). After breakfast, Pat hung out on the back deck reading (it was way too hot (92) out for me!! haha) while I stayed inside (in the nice cool house) and made some fiesta chicken in the crockpot for the week.

Pat and I then ran a bunch of errands earlier today. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought some new curtains for our dining room, like the realtor suggested.

While we were at Bed Bath and Beyond, I also tried to return my Keurig that broke and see what could be done. For those of you that have been on the edge of your seats to find out how I made out with my broken Keurig, I am happy to say I now I have a brand new one for just $29!! 🙂 Bed Bath and Beyond was able to verify that the model that I had was one they once carried and gave me a credit for what it was currently worth – which was $68. A new machine was $119. I was able to use a 20% off coupon and after the credit was applied, the total was only about $29! I can’t complain about that, especially since my broken Keurig was about 8 years old or so. I am currently enjoying a cup of coffee made with the new machine as we speak. 🙂

How was your weekend?

Just some things (you absolutely must know)

Hey guys!

Happy Friday!!!!!!   This has been a long week and I am so glad the weekend is finally here.

So, what do I have to catch you up on in my super exciting life?? 🙂

I mentioned in my last post that I now belong to the library. The night that Pat and I joined, I requested several books, which were all unavailable at the time. Well, just 4 days later, all 4 books are in. I picked them all up after work today. I had no idea they would all come in so fast (or all at the same time!), so now I have 4 books to read in a matter of 2 weeks. That will NEVER happen, since I pretty much only read on the weekend.  The books I picked up were Descent, Second Life, Crash and Burn, and Those Girls.

I read an article today about The 10 Safest And Most Peaceful Places To Live In New Jersey and my town, Spring Lake Heights made the list! 🙂

photo

Speaking of Spring Lake Heights, I am not sure how much longer I will be able to still call it home. Pat and I have wanted to put our house on the market for quite some time now, but have just recently started to get more serious about it. While we both love our town, we have just outgrown our house. We have also lived in it for 11 years and we are both ready for a change (and something a little bigger!). We still want to stay in the same general area though. We are meeting with a realtor on Sunday and going to look at about 8 houses with him. I am so excited!! 🙂

I bought this peanut butter a few days ago and can’t wait to try it. I LOVE anything caramel flavored and LOVE peanut butter, so I think it could be very dangerous.

As I posted on Instagram earlier this week, it was a very sad day in the Cullen house on Wednesday. My beloved Keurig has officially died. I knew this day was coming when she started to leak water all over the counter every morning and now the last few days only a few drops of coffee came out after I pressed the large mug button. I am very upset but we had a lot of great years together. I remember someone told me years ago that you can bring a broken Keurig to Bed Bath and Beyond and get a replacement even without a receipt. Does anyone know if this is true?  I called Bed Bath and Beyond and they told me they no longer carry the older Keurig  models, but if they can verify it was purchased there, they will give the lowest selling price as a credit for a new Keurig.

By the way, do you follow me on Instagram? If not, me thinks you should. 🙂

I will leave you with a few laughs on this fine Friday.
