Hey guys!
How was your weekend?
Friday night was pizza night in the Cullen house. Pat had pepperoni and I had cheesesteak pizza. Yes, we did get 2 pizzas since we wanted different kinds – they were not regular size pizzas though, they were more like personal pizzas. (By the way, does anyone remember when you used to get free personal pizzas from Pizza Hut after you read a certain amount of books back in middle school? My husband said they didn’t have that in his town, but I’m telling you, it was a thing (and an AWESOME thing it was!) where I grew up.)
After dinner I decided I was in the mood to bake. I decided on some brown sugar cake batter bars, and as if they were not sweet enough as is, I decided to frost them with some cream cheese icing (AKA the BEST flavor of icing in my opinion).
On Saturday morning, Pat and I got some bagels for breakfast. After breakfast, Pat went to the gym and I took a shower, did some laundry, and then ran some errands. One of the things I wanted to do was make a stop at Bath & Body Works. I saw a post on Instagram that they were having a super sale on candles. The candles are regularly $22.50 each, and were on sale for $8.50!! That is an awesome sale if you ask me, so I decided to stock up!
The rest of the day was not all that exciting. Pat had a few things to do for work, so I ran out to get us some lunch and then I just hung out at the house for a few hrs. – read a book and blogs, listened to music, and made Bosco snuggle with me. 🙂
A Christmas gift that I ordered for Pat was also delivered. A few years ago I made Pat a Bosco calendar (and one for myself, of course) as a Christmas gift. He loved it and I made one for him every year since.
Here is a sneak peek of this year’s calendar. 🙂
When Pat was done with his work, I made him take me on a ride to look at Christmas lights. 🙂 We drove around for about an hr. and then went out to dinner.
I had Balsamic chicken with roasted peppers, mozzarella, and penne. It was delicious and very filling.
The rest of Saturday night was spent hanging out on the couch with Bosco.
I took Bosco for a very chilly walk on Sunday AM. When we got back to the house, I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the house, looked through coupons, did some laundry, started a batch of chicken in the crock pot, and then Pat and I went to get bagels for breakfast.
But first, coffee was had.
After breakfast, Pat had some more stuff to do for work while I got some food / snacks ready for next week, took a shower, and caught up on Facebook / Instagram / blogs.
We took a ride to check out a house that we saw online and then went out for a late lunch.
mmm, pizza 🙂
Now we’re home and I have to get my chicken out of the crock pot and put it into containers. I am going to have the chicken on top of salad for dinner during the week.
Have a great night, guys!! 🙂

What an awesome weekend!! You and I shared some similarities! I made brown sugar chocolate chip cookies (bc I had NO granular sugar) for my students for tomorrow, its our last day of MAP testing, I promised them a treat
I snuggled with the pups and read today too! Just a ho hum kind of day!
Mmmm those pizzas look amazing! Philly cheesecake!?
Oh and yes, i agree, cheesecake frosting is the BEST type of frosting!!!
I remember the Pizza Hut thing! It was called Book It where I lived. That’s funny to think back on- good memories!
Yes – that was it!!! Pat asked how they checked if you really read the book or not. That part I don’t remember – not sure if you had to write a report about the book or what. Anyway, so glad that someone else remembered! haha 🙂
OMG Cake Batter Bars?! I’m looking for a dessert to make for my book club Christmas party on Sunday night. Something like this would be perfect! Hmm…
Yes, do it – they are awesome! 🙂 I follow the recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction.
