2016 was both one of the greatest and worst years of my life.
In May, we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary.
In July, we found out I was pregnant after just a few months of trying and couldn’t be more happy. We first shared the news with my sister almost right away and a few weeks later with my mom.
In August, we finally sold our house! There were a few disappointments along the way, and we were really upset that we lost several houses we liked a lot while waiting for our house to be sold. As it turned out, things do happen for a reason and we later found our house now which had everything we ever wanted and more. We also told Pat’s parents about their new grandchild on the way.
In September, we found out we are having a GIRL!
All these things made 2016 one of the best and most memorable years ever.
Then came October, which was hands down the most difficult month of my life. We watched our cute little boy get very sick, very fast. It was heartbreaking to realize that we didn’t have long with him and to not be able to do anything to help him get better. We had to make the extremely difficult decision to put him to sleep and it was absolutely the worst day of my life, as he was our first baby and nothing short of a child to Pat and I for almost 11 1/2 years. While Emma will definitely know of Bosco (and have lots and lots of pictures of him), it still breaks my heart that she will never meet him or come to love him like Pat and I did.
While I still am and always will be heartbroken over Bosco, I know we have so much to look forward to in 2017, specifically in March. XOXO
Bittersweet post! Sad to hear about Bosco but a huge congratulations!! March will be here before you know it 🙂
You have had a roller coaster year. So sorry to hear about Bosco! That is so sad. Congratulations on the baby girls. When it’s right, maybe you can get your sweet little girl a puppy that can grow up with her.
I know losing Bosco was hard for you, as he looked adorable. But congrats on finding out you’re having a little girl. I’m sure having your daughter will make this a great year😊 xx
Thank you! ❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. We lost two elderly kitties that we brought from Egypt over 12 years ago and we buried them in the garden. Us pet owners have to prepare ourselves for their departure but it still breaks our heart. I hope you enjoy 2017 – it should be very exciting.
Your 2016 looks a lot like mine! I got pregnant and had my first daughter which was awesome!!! But I also had to say goodbye to my best friend Gracie who was my faithful side kick for 11 years as well. Losing a pet is the same as losing family and I hate that my daughter never got to meet her.
