Weekend Things

Hey guys!

How was your weekend?  We had a pretty busy but fun weekend over here.

Friday night was pizza night once again. We had dinner, hung out on the couch with Bosco, ate a bunch of snacks, and I made a batch of cinnamon buns (yum!).

Bosco was clearly thrilled by our exciting night.

Saturday was a pretty packed day. I had a morning appt. to get my hair done, so I got up early to get some cleaning done before I left. I cleaned the bathroom, walked Bosco and fed him breakfast, did a load of laundry, and vacuumed. I had a Quest bar (Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – mmmm!!)  for breakfast. I took a shower and then left for my hair appt.

After I got home from my hair appt., I had about 1/2 hr. to eat lunch before I had to leave to get my nails done.

When I got home, Pat and I went out to run a few errands and then my sister and Nick came over. We hung out for a bit at the house and then went out to dinner at a restaurant near our house.

I had a grilled chicken salad and my sister had the same.

We had a nice dinner and then hung out at our house for a while after. We talked about ideas of what to do for New Year’s Eve as well as a trip we want to take into NYC next Saturday. (Random fact – Pat proposed to me in front of the tree in NY back in 2004). 🙂  Nick and Amy stayed for about an hr. before they headed home for the night.

Sunday AM started with a very chilly (it was only 32 degrees out when I woke up!) walk with the Shih Tzu. I got a bunch of stuff around the house done – cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, did laundry, and started a batch of fiesta chicken in the crock pot. After Pat was up, we took Bosco with us to get some coffee and bagels. Bosco LOVES going for rides in the car (just like his momma!).

I had a bagel with egg, cheddar, and a hash brown  – mmm, mmm, mmm!

After breakfast Pat went to the gym and I stayed home to get some food ready for the week and take a shower. I made a batch of roasted veggies to snack on next week, bagged some carrots for work, and got some other snacks for the week ready. I love to have all my food for during the week all ready to go – makes things so much easier!

Later in the day Pat and I went out to buy a few things we still had to get people (and a certain little Shih Tzu!!) for Christmas. Some of the stores were quite busy, but I think we are now all set with everything we wanted to get.

I think I am about to make myself some hot chocolate and have a sugar cookie.

Have a great night!! 🙂

Our Weekend

Hey guys!

How was your weekend?

Friday night was pizza night in the Cullen house. Pat had pepperoni and I had cheesesteak pizza. Yes, we did get 2 pizzas since we wanted different kinds – they were not regular size pizzas though, they were more like personal pizzas.  (By the way, does anyone remember when you used to get free personal pizzas from Pizza Hut after you read a certain amount of books back in middle school? My husband said they didn’t have that in his town, but I’m telling you, it was a thing (and an AWESOME thing it was!) where I grew up.)

After dinner I decided I was in the mood to bake. I decided on some brown sugar cake batter bars, and as if they were not sweet enough as is, I decided to frost them with some cream cheese icing (AKA the BEST flavor of icing in my opinion).

On Saturday morning, Pat and I got some bagels for breakfast. After breakfast, Pat went to the gym and I took a shower, did some laundry, and then ran some errands. One of the things I wanted to do was make a stop at Bath & Body Works. I saw a post on Instagram that they were having a super sale on candles. The candles are regularly $22.50 each, and were on sale for $8.50!! That is an awesome sale if you ask me, so I decided to stock up!

The rest of the day was not all that exciting. Pat had a few things to do for work, so I ran out to get us some lunch and then I just hung out at the house for a few hrs. – read a book and blogs, listened to music, and made Bosco snuggle with me. 🙂

A Christmas gift that I ordered for Pat was also delivered.  A few years ago I made Pat a Bosco calendar (and one for myself, of course) as a Christmas gift. He loved it and I made one for him every year since.

Here is a sneak peek of this year’s calendar. 🙂

When Pat was done with his work, I made him take me on a ride to look at Christmas lights. 🙂 We drove around for about an hr. and then went out to dinner.

I had Balsamic chicken with roasted peppers, mozzarella, and penne. It was delicious and very filling.

The rest of Saturday night was spent hanging out on the couch with Bosco.

I took Bosco for a very chilly walk on Sunday AM. When we got back to the house, I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the house, looked through coupons, did some laundry, started a batch of chicken in the crock pot, and then Pat and I went to get bagels for breakfast.

But first, coffee was had.

After breakfast, Pat had some more stuff to do for work while I got some food / snacks ready for next week, took a shower, and caught up on Facebook / Instagram / blogs.

We took a ride to check out a house that we saw online and then went out for a late lunch.

mmm, pizza 🙂

Now we’re home and I have to get my chicken out of the crock pot and put it into containers. I am going to have the chicken on top of salad for dinner during the week.

Have a great night, guys!! 🙂

Weekend Snapshots

Hey guys!

How was your weekend? We had a lot of rain here in NJ this weekend, but we were thankfully spared a direct hit from Hurricane Joaquin. I didn’t do anything all that exciting – I did make it to the gym (2 times!!), baked (and ate!) some cake batter bars on Friday night, caught up on How to get away with Murder, went to Target, took Bosco to the groomer, had my first pumpkin coffee of the season, made some fajita chicken in the crock pot to have on top of salad for dinner next week, and got a lot of reading done.

Here are some snapshots from the weekend:

Just Checking In

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! I just wanted to check in and say hi. 🙂

How has your week been? Mine has been super busy at work, but thankfully there is a light at the end of the tunnel – only one more week and Pat and I leave for Aruba!

1385646_10201421740802893_1265070437_n

Not to toot my own horn, but I took this picture the last time we were there .. isn’t it so beautiful that it almost looks fake? Just say yes and make me happy. 🙂

Let’s see, what else do I want to tell you guys about. I have seen post after post on Instagram about Combat Crunch bars and have been intrigued to try them.

11934996_10206249441732399_8634802495453856386_n

I picked some up after work today and can’t wait to try them. If they are even 1/2 as tasty as Quest bars (which I LOVE and have every single day), I know I will love them.

I haven’t talked about fitness all that much lately, mostly because there hasn’t been much taking place to talk about. When my gym was right down the street, I went pretty much every morning before work. Now that my new gym is 10 – 15 mins. away, I just find it too hard to get there before work, but yet often feel too tired to go after work. I still do make it there, but lately only 1 or 2 days / week.  I have, however, been doing really well as far as watching what I eat. Over the last 3 months, I have been pretty strict about what I eat and actually lost 15 lbs. as a result. Over the last 3 months, I can honestly say I only had 1 real “cheat meal” (more like cheat 1/2 day). 🙂  I am quite proud of myself considering I was in many situations when I was around not so healthy food (concerts, parties, weekend away, even in an ice cream parlor with my sister and Pat!) but stayed disciplined. As time went on over the last 3 months, I really didn’t even crave junk food, as I said, other than last weekend.

I am really happy with my weight loss, except for one thing – I think 90% of the weight that I lost was in my boobs. 😦  haha (and by haha, I really mean waaaaaaa)  How is that fair??!! As I lost weight, I started to notice more and more extra room in my bras, but I think I was in denial. A few days ago I finally broke down and bought myself some new bras – 3 actually (which came to $220! – WHY are bras SO expensive??).

This weekend is going to be pretty busy for us. Tomorrow AM, Mr. Bosco has an appt. at the groomer and I have an appt. to get my nails done. Pat and I also want to try to get some more things done on the house to get it ready to put on the market, especially since we will be on vacation for the next 2 weekends.

On Sunday, Pat and I are going stand up paddle boarding with my friend, sister, and sister’s friend.

thP43P2ZNT

I am looking forward to it, but REALLY don’t want to fall into the water. haha  If I do like it, maybe Pat and I will do it in Aruba as well.

Well, Pat should be home any minute now with our dinner, so I will talk to you all later.

Have a great weekend!! 🙂
